The timber's hard ............ Everything else is easy!
Western Red Cedar
(Thuja plicata)
Imported from British Columbia, Western Red Cedar (or WRC) is a very common species. It is a very stable timber with low radial/tangental shrinkage, Heartwood is generally quite durable, however it is very soft and may damage easily. Not good as a structural timber but lends itself well to cladding and wall linings, external joinery, outdoor furniture, window joinery and roof & wall shakes and shingles.
